Ever wonder about how Batman came to be? Well, this quick history lesson should catch you up on why Batman is as popular as he is. Batman was created in 1939 by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger as a response to the success of Superman. Although Kane is considered to be the creator of Batman (and receives credit on all Batman comics published to this day), Finger did make several important contributions of his own. For example, it was Finger who influenced the look of the character. Not many…

Round Two. Presented to us courtesy of Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son, where Superman is realized as the son of the Russian People during Communist Russia. Another glorious Elseworlds idea, as it is incredible to think what Superman would have become if he wasn’t America’s superhero, but the powerhouse for the Communists. With his mere existence, the Cold War is a “whole new monster.” Yet, still there is one man who experiences the worst of society. A young Batman witnesses his parents murdered by…

Welcome to What's Bothering TBU?; the latest monthly series for TheBatmanUniverse.net. This new series is essentially an outlet for the staff at TBU, a place where we can rant and rage about anything! It won't always be directly Batman related, but hopefully, it will always be entertaining. So if you want to hear Nick nit-picking, Dustin dishing it out and me moaning about everything else, make sure you check out The Batman Universe soon for the first 'What's Bothering TBU?'! It's time for the first round of our first TBU Vs. match-up. Remember, the winner of this fight may not necessarily be the one who won in the comic that is being referenced. This round's fight takes place in an Elseworlds graphic novel titled, JSA: The LIberty Files, by Dan Jolley and artwork by Starman's Tony Harris, who has also worked on Ex Machina. First let's cover some background. The Batman in this comic, being an Elseworlds and all, is thankfully Bruce Wayne. Superman, however,…

So Christmas has once again come and gone. You're probably at home now whilst friends and family are making their journeys back, you'll still be digesting the mountain of food that you ate and more often than not you'll be left with a pile of unwanted presents. Sure it's the thought that counts but how much thought went in to that scarf and glove set? And how many bottles of cheap aftershave do you have to get before you start wondering if people…

So for a large portion of my life, I have loved Batman. After viewing this photo, it's nice to know that finally, after all of these years, Batman loves me, and he loves you too! What do you make of this photo? Share your thoughts in the comments section. Posted by Zach Betonte

If there is one thing I have learned after viewing the image below, it's that artist Dean Gorissen is brilliant. Some of my favorite artwork tends to lean on the "Quirkier" side of things. Here, the artist seems to be suggesting that like everyone else, Superheroes have a day job too. It just so happens that their job is "Saving the World". Mine's somewhat similar too. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Another amusing video from the folks over at College Humor. This time Batman meets Riddler set in the Nolan-verse. Batman definitely doesn't have the brains for this new villain. Posted by Dustin Fritschel
