Damon Talks Batman And Affleck

While on his promotional tour for his most recent film, Elysium, in India Matt Damon spoke out about the Affleck/Batman announcement and what he thinks about it. He also commented on the fact that he has been jokingly mentioned as playing Robin in the Batman/Superman film

.

"I think it will be great, it will be terrific. I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! Certainly within his skill set. If anybody saw 'Argo' or 'The Town,' and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that… But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."

Damon's film Elysium is in theaters now and can be seen in the upcoming Zero Theorem, and former Batman George Clooney's new film. The Monuments Man.

Hmmmm, he seems to be promoting Affleck by disparaging the role. As if he's saying, of course Affleck is good enough to play Batman because it's only Batman. I guess he does give his friend a pat on the back for his most recent work, but I don't like how he appears to be derogatory towards the character.

I think Matt Damon is a great actor. However, I always thought his person was arrogant and I never liked the guy. This didn't help. He's being very disrespectful to the character.

All he has to do is look at George Clooney's Batman and see it is not so easy. Kind of a slap in the face to Bale.
