Dustin Nguyen has stepped down as the artist on DC’s kids novel series ‘Secret Hero Society’ to focus on other projects including his upcoming DC Zoom title. His departure has prompted DC to find a new artist, whom they have confirmed as Pamela Lovas. Lovas has a strong history in creating content for both comics and children. She will be working with series writer Derek Fridolfs, who will remain as the writer of the series.
Her debut will be in the fourth book of the series planned for 2019 titled “Science Fair Crisis”. The series previous titles include Study Hall of Justice, Detention of Doom, and Fort Solitude. Secret Society of Heroes focuses on school-age versions of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman as they work through adolescence and puts an innocent spin on their crime-fighting adventures. The heroes have also been joined by young versions of Cyborg, Flash, and Harley Quinn at Justice Prep School in previous books. The new book is set to release on February 26, 2019, and is published by Scholastic books.
For fans of Nguyen’s work, the artist has not left the realm of comics. He is currently working on the Ascender comic from Image and the DC Zoom book, Lil’ Gotham.
