Here is Year Two, a criminally underrated story with a menacing and ruthless villain. However the story betrays Bruce Wayne's morals swiftly and is fundamentally flawed as a result. Give it a listen and see what you think. Nest week is Dark Victory, the introduction of Dick Grayson.

Here is Batman: Faces which I felt was a dreadful portrayal of Two-Face and just a horrible piece of work. Probably the worst reviewed on BBFB so far. Enjoy my absolute trashing of it. Upon hearing this again I think this deserves 0/5 batarangs, but I can't change scores now unfortunately. Next week is Year Two.

Here is an extra long BBFB on The Long Halloween, one of the best-loved bat-books out there. See if I think it's as good as everyone says it is. If you love your gangster movies, you'll love the Godfather references and style adopted for this book. Next week is Faces. Enjoy

Here is Venom! An interesting take on Batman's mortality with undertones that comment on drug addiction. Plus it has a bat-beard! Check it out below. Next week we've got an extra long BBFB on The Long Halloween.

And now we have Spook, a generally weak addition to Batman lore. Hear my review of it below and listen to me discuss why this book failed to capture my imagination. Next week is Going Sane. Enjoy.

Have you ever wanted to know more about some of Batman's villains? Well here is your chance. This book has four short stories involving Man-Bat, Riddler, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow. This book is wildly inconsistent but has some excellent moments. What did you think?

This is the Jokers first encounter with Batman and the beginning of a never ending confrontation. See what you reckon to the Jokers introduction. I felt for such a massive task, it was pulled off fairly well. Next week is Four of a Kind, a look at four of Batmans villains.

As we approach Halloween, here is a Batman story with an element of horror and the supernatural to it. Written by the quirky Grant Morrison, see what you think. Next we have Batman and the Mad Monk.

Hey everyone here is the first ever episode of BBFB. Please forgive the poor audio quality, it gets better I promise. This is a chance for those of you who haven’t kept up with BBFB or haven’t been listening to get into the Batman comics gently.

Hi everyone, wow this new blog is great!

This is Nick from TheBatmanUniverse.net just letting you all know that Bat Books For Beginners will be stretching out of the comic podcast to this blog. Firstly I will be expanding a bit more from my reviews in the comic podcast to give you even more detail and insight into what I thought of the latest book, and I’ll be hoping for all of your comments on it as well.

Even more importantly, if you don’t listen to the comic podcast, you don’t read the batman comics, and you are indeed a bat book beginner this blog will help you catch up. I will be posting all the old BBFB segments once a week until we catch up with where I am now. So just in case you don’t listen to the comic podcast because it is all way out of your depth and you weren’t even aware of my little segment here is the chance you’ve been looking for to dive in. It starts with Batman: Year One and progresses on from there.

One little note: please excuse the poor audio quality for the first few segments. It took me a while to get a decent mic.

The first segment will be up soon, so if your looking to get started or you fell behind, ensure you pay attention this time.
