Jim Gordon Television Series Coming To Fox

Jim Gordon

A brand new television is in the works according to Deadline. The new series will be airing on Fox and will feature Jim Gordon as the main character. This comes after a bidding war in which Fox won the rights to the show which will be called "Gotham" and will follow Gordon in his early days as a detective and will feature villains that made Gotham what it is today. Batman will not be featured in the show because it takes place before Bruce dons the cape and cowl.

The series will be helmed by "Rome" and "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller and there is no time/date or time frame on when the series will be airing or who will be starring in the series. However the bidding war did include a series commitment.

If this is like Gotham Central this can be awesome. I call that series The Wire of comic books. Replace Stringer Bell with Oswald Cobblepot for instance…this could be good!
