TDKR Weekend Box Office Take

The Dark Knight Rises

After setting a record in pre-sale tickets for the film, Warner Bros. has revealed the totals from the weekend. After raking in over $30 million from the midnight showings, the weekend rounded out with $160.9 million making it the largest 2D release gross ever.

The Dark Knight Rises sits at third place for opening weekend box office behind The Avengers and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2, both of which had higher ticket prices from the 3D format.

Internationally, the film pulled in an additional $88 million, bringing the current gross to almost $250 million.
