Greetings Bat-Fans! I know it’s been a while since my first BTAS review, but I couldn’t resist waiting until Christmas to share this holiday themed episode with you. Unfortunately, it’s not that good! The plot is simple; On Christmas Eve, the Joker hi-jacks all the TV networks in Gotham, and airs his own holiday special, Christmas with the Joker! He kidnaps Commissioner Gordon, Harvey Bullock, and Summer Gleason to be his own special…

How do heroes spend their Christmas? Well, it looks like Tim Drake may be spending it alone. From DC Holiday Bash #3.

This video will most likely become an annual occurrence here on the editorials. Years ago a YouTube user by the name of ItsJustSomeRandomGuy started posting videos using action figures and showing parodies of the current comic book films in theaters. He then started telling original stories using characters from the DC and Marvel Universes. Back in 2007, a month before I launched the podcast, I came across this video and thought it was amazing. Over the next year, I will be promoting his videos here on the editorials. If you have never seen any of his work, you…

Today is Christmas Eve and some who read this may have a tradition of reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clark Moore with family later tonight. Well, a lot of people may not realize that there was a film that was based off of the first line of that poem. Warner Bros. released this film by itself for the first time back on October 5. They sent over a…

What does Joker want for Christmas? Well, according to DC Comics' Holiday Bash #3 from 1999, he has a song to go with his wants. Posted by Dustin

Batman Orphans part two opens exactly where part one left off. Bruce is suffering the effects of the fear toxin, still envisioning his parents being gunned down in a filthy alley. Unfortunately, Samantha Locke is on scene to see the whole thing happen. In his vision, Bruce is dressed in the Robin outfit and Samantha is playing the part of Joe Chill. He begins to attack her, before Sam Jackson fights him off. Fortunately, Alfred intervenes and takes Bruce away, though not before Samantha exposes the…

This year in review has been quite the adventure, we had our ups and our downs, our favorites and our dislikes. But we read these Batman books regardless because, hey, we’re in love with the character. And beside that fact the Batman flagship book had an alright year, concluding this year (excluding the annuals) with a Tony Daniel's arc is the best thing for us fans who are sick of Grant Morrison’s headiness. Tony Daniel's previous run on the book wasn’t the hottest thing in the world…

Today's Christmas-themed scan comes from the DC Holiday Card from 2004. Interestingly, this was released six months before the tumbler made it's debut in Batman Begins. I guess Santa actually gave Bruce the new Batmobile before Chris Nolan did. This card was drawn by Jim Lee. Posted by Dustin

Editor's Note: Dark Knight Dave gives us a bonus review inside this one with not only a review of Superman/Batman #78, but also the recent Brightest Day #15. Enjoy!
Batman Dead!
(Again?)
Have you ever noticed how often lately that Batman ends up dead in the pages of comic books? It’s an intriguing prospect and one that provides endless opportunities to rewrite the Batman mythos. For one, Batman is seemingly an invincible character. He’s the world’s…

Knight and Squire #3 is another solid comic from the creative team of Paul Cornell and Jimmy Broxton. However, something about this issue just didn’t grab me. It sure wasn’t the art, which is nice, and pretty, but also different from what I’ve come to expect from a comic, but not too different. Maybe it’s the story, that just didn’t grab me, I mean sure it had some good ideas, but it didn’t really have any oomph. Now many of you out…
