Batman has over seventy years of history and fans who have followed his career, and that's what The Batman Universe is all about.
In this episode, Kimberley Rockmore makes her triumphant return in order to relate some special news items. I review Detective Comics #492 and #493, Batgirl #18, and Birds of Prey #18. After asking some deep questions above life, I round out the episode with Babs in the Tube and my literature recommendation.

This page occurs in Batman Family #13 in 1977. This is the most open we have seen Robin concerning his feelings for Babs, and even about himself and why he acts the way he does. Sadly for him, Babs was sleeping through his entire confession…or was she??? Posted by Stella Bowman

This panel is from Batman Family #7. I think this particular image speaks for itself. It will not be the last time that these two characters are in a confined space together. Happy Valentine's Day! Posted by Stella Bowman

I know it is hard to believe, but innuendo also found its way into comics in the 1970's! This particular panel occurs in Batman Family #5, which came out in 1976. This particular story had Maze agents going after two different people who were hanging out with Dick and Barbara, separately. The end of the issue brings the two heroes together to make a united front and fight! This panel happens right after they put some dance moves together in order to take down some baddies. Who knows what…

This full page is from Batman Family #3, a pretty important moment in Dick and Babs' history because they both admit that they know their respective true identities. This will help for upcoming missions, especially when Babs gets herself in trouble with some memory loss! Later in that same story in Detective Comics #489, Dick asks that Babs not remember his and Batman's identities…which she willingly accepts. Posted by Stella Bowman

This particularly famous panel is from Batman Family #1, which came out in 1975. This is arguably the first openly romantic panel shown in comics, though it is not intentionally romantic, given the circumstances. At the time, Barbara Gordon was a Congresswoman and Dick Grayson was going to Hudson University. This panel launched 1,000 letters to the Bat-offices (most of them in disgust)! Batman (2011-) #14 ($3.99) Batman has his confrontation with The Joker, who greets him with a very chilling revelation, as well as his master…
