It is true! Shipper Spotlight is not gone, but has returned from a brief hiatus. Since September wrapped up the so-called ‘0-Month,’ it is only right that I focus on this batch of books. I was taken by two books in particular, mainly due to their blatant dissimilarity. For this Shipper Spotlight I will be focusing on the familial relationships present in Batman and Robin #0 and Batgirl #0. BATMAN AND ROBIN #0 Let me tell you a…

Interesting Tidbit: Batman: Year One will be released on DVD, BluRay, and OnDemand on October 18, 2011 (the same day, as a matter of fact, as Batman: Arkham City). I was blessed to be able to see the world premiere of this movie on Friday, July 22, 2011 at San Diego Comic Con. I would like to give a special thank-you to Dustin for giving me the opportunity to interview Katee Sackhoff and Lauren Montgomery.

"Batman/Superman: Apocalypse" and "Batgirl: Year One the Motion Comic" are two topics which I discuss at the beginning of this hour. Kimberley Rockmore joins me from the Watchtower Newsdesk, and shares some small screen news. Plus, I review Detective Comics #406 and #407, Batgirl #14, and Birds of Prey #5. I finish off the episode with my literature recommendation, and Thomas Matis pops on at the end for a few words on Batgirl #14.

Just under the wire! In this September episode, I talk a little about my teaching job, explain why Barbara Gordon and Peter Parker would not work as a couple, and share some exciting news about Batgirl: Year One! I then review Detective Comics #404 and #405, Batgirl #13, and Birds of Prey #4, as well as give my literature recommendation for the month. Enjoy, and please forgive my sleep-deprivation-induced ramblings!

As many followers of this site and the podcasts that come with it know, there is a movement right now spearheaded by the host of Batgirl to Oracle: A Barbara Gordon Podcast to get Batgirl: Year One back on the slate for production by DC Universe Animation. It is a worthy cause, but after watching Batman: Under The Red Hood, and considering most of DCU’s “comics-to-screen” adaptations so far, it kind of makes me think it’s a blessing in disguise…

In this non-Babs related episode, I, along with special guest George Berryman, add commentary to Wonder Woman, the 2009 DC animated movie. Synch this episode with your DVD and you can follow along with us! There is some great discussion before and after the movie not only concerning Wonder Woman and her mythos, but also the great potential for Batgirl: Year One the animated movie.
Being that this is an editorial section, this gives the platform for many different things. One of the things that came to my attention is an online petition. Being that you may venture outside the world of The Batman Universe to find some other sources of Batman goodness, you may have come across Batgirl to Oracle: The Barbara Gordon Podcast. The podcast follows everything related to Batgirl, and gives fans of Barbara Gordon a place to learn even more about the character. They of course have a website where they also post up news bits about things related…
