Red Robin is finally over, after twenty six issues, we have reached the end of Tim Drake’s journey as his own man as Red Robin. Only, do you think anyone took the time to tell the creative team that this was the last issue? The main premise of the issue is Tim is finally going to take out Digger Harkness, AKA Captain Boomerang #1 who at the end of Identity Crisis died while murdering Jack Drake, Tim Drake’s father. Digger came back during the Blackest Night…

As Red Robin reaches its quarter century issue Tim Drake celebrates by taking part in an issue that tries to be action packed, but in the end comes across as shallow and contrived and the slightest bit dull. Red Robin #25 handles the main plot threads of Tim being forced to impregnate Promise’s sister, but with the help of Cassandra Cain, in her guise of Blackbat, he escapes and finds his way to the hideout of the main villain of the storyline….

DC Comics have released the solicitations for August 2011 and there are a number of interesting things occurring in The Batman Universe. The first thing we see is that there will be another eighty-page giant this year with a cover by Dustin Nguyen. The creators writing and drawing in the issue were not named specifically, but there is plenty of time between now and August for them to name some off. The remaining Retroactive one-shots are both released in August. As far as creator changes, Chris Burnham will be back on Batman Incorporated for issue #10. Batman and Robin gets yet…

Red Robin #15 is carrying on Fabian's first storyline of the series, with Tim Drake in crutches going to see the resurrected Captain Boomerang, who murdered Tim’s father in Identity Crisis. The real question I had when I saw this page was why was Tim Drake in crutches? In this issue, Fabian takes care of the problem he set up in Gotham Gazette of Vicki Vale finding out the Bat-Families secret identities. You know the thing that Chris Yost could not be bothered to deal with in…

We have reached the final part of the three episode storyline of Blackest Night featuring Batman and Superman. My aim here is not to recap the issues but to continue the friendly competition between DC comic’s greatest heroes and how they respectively dealt with the Blackest Night scourge. I divided the competition into 4 parts; Cover Art, Reveals, Raw Emotional Impact, and Supporting Cast and Villains.
