Batman: The Dark Knight #8 switches up its creative team, this time written by Joe Harris and drawn by Ed Benes. This series, the brainchild of David Finch, credits him now for the cover only. I wonder if this is the reason for my enjoyment of this issue? The issue opens with Batman being called to a grisly crime scene on the Gotham Metro line. Gordon shows him a train car full of bloodied corpses. Batman quickly…

The Source continues to show off art from TBU books with Batman: The Dark Knight. Besides art being shown, David Finch shared some comments about working with Gregg Hurwitz coming on to the series with issue ten. Gregg Hurwitz coming on to BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT is a total game changer for this book. His stories are vicious, cruel and dark, but they are also incredibly humane and insightful and well written. I don't think that I need to tell Gregg Hurwitz fans how great a writer he is, but for those comic book readers who have not had…
The next panel we are covering is the DC All-Access panel. In attendance for the panel is DCE Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras, Editorial Director Bobbie Chase, J. Batman: The Dark Knight #7 continues the run of Paul Jenkins and David Finch. So, this is what the final battle comes down to. Batman manages to escape Bane, all the while thinking about the situation and the choice he faces. With this new form of venom, Bane is stronger, faster, and now smarter. He decides to first clear the area of any civilians. When he finds Poison Ivy in a containment tube, he says he found…

You may remember me recommending this recently in the 'TBU After Christmas List'. Well I was one of the people who rushed out with their Christmas money to buy it and I have to say, it's the best purchase I've made this year! Looking back, I'm aware that I didn't really explain what the book is; frankly, I didn't know. What I did know, however, is that it looked cool- and it does! It's just a shame that it's too big to fit on any of my shelves…

Batman: The Dark Knight #5 continues the run of David Finch and Paul Jenkins, and continues to be a hard pill to swallow every month. After last month's shocking reveal of Scarecrow as the villain pulling all the strings, we open this issue to see Batman fighting the effects of the toxin. Scarecrow tells him his heroism is just his defense mechanism and he forces him to see everything Batman considers to be his fault. He sees all the villains, his son, blood, and of course, his mother's pearls. Scarecrow…

Batman: The Dark Knight #6 continues the pairing of David Finch and Paul Jenkins, giving me the first issue in a long while that I've enjoyed. It could be all the publicity Bane has been getting recently. (On the off-chance that you live under a rock or stumbled on this site and this review by accident, Bane is poised to be the Big Bad in The Dark Knight Rises this summer.) This issue opens with Batman reliving the murder of Bruce's parents, after Superman has beaten…
