Welcome to The Batman Universe, your source for all things related to the Dark Knight. You can learn about the latest news related to the comics, movies, TV, merchandise, video games and much more. We also release a number of podcasts related to various aspects of the Caped Crusader. Check out the latest news or editorials from our staff. Batman has over seventy years of history and fans who have followed his career, and that's what The Batman Universe is all about.
Some may think that running a site like this gives me the opportunity to get some exclusive screening of The Dark Knight Rises. I am here to tell you that just like the majority of those reading this, I will be in line at my local IMAX theater hours before midnight anxiously anticipating Nolan's last take on Batman. The thing is that today is like Christmas Eve for us Bat-fans. We have been waiting along time for this and in turn I'm sure we will not be disappointed. I wanted to share with everyone what I call my TDKR moment….

Merry Christmas! Happy 2 years Anniversary to BTO! In this first part, I, along with special guests Josh Bertone and Donovan Morgan Grant, play a trivia game revolving around the three major characters to hold the Batgirl name. We do a brief character spotlight on the enigmatic Dustin "The Batman" F., and talk about the past and future of BTO.
Big thank you to Dustin, and everyone at TheBatmanUniverse.net for two tickets to see Batman: Live at my chosen venue, The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow on August the 3rd of this year, which was the opening night, for Batman: Live here in Glasgow. Batman: Live is the retelling of the origin of Dick Grayson, from boyhood acrobat, to the boy wonder. A classic story that anyone who has seen the movie “Batman Forever” can tell you about, so it was certainly a mighty task…

Interesting Tidbit: Batman: Year One will be released on DVD, BluRay, and OnDemand on October 18, 2011 (the same day, as a matter of fact, as Batman: Arkham City). I was blessed to be able to see the world premiere of this movie on Friday, July 22, 2011 at San Diego Comic Con. I would like to give a special thank-you to Dustin for giving me the opportunity to interview Katee Sackhoff and Lauren Montgomery.

Listen to our trials and tribulations, our inside jokes, the names of celebrities with whom we spoke, and a special character spotlight on Dustin from The Batman Universe! Arthur the aardvark fans beware! This is a nice companion to Spider-Man Crawl Space Podcast #145-146.

Well it seems Paul Dini is back to his usual self this week as 'Batman: Arkham City' #2 is delayed from the 25th of May to the 8th of June, but still, at least it's still going to be written by him! In other news, we do see the return of David Finch's 'Batman: The Dark Knight'! Following yet another week-long delay to issue 3 from the 15th of June to the 22nd, issue 5 will be hitting the stores for the 24th of August. Now there are two…

I have some very exciting news! Whilst it's nothing official, I have good reason to believe we'll be seeing 'Batwoman' in November 2011. This all came about from Amy Reeder stating at WonderCon that we won't see her art in Batwoman until February 2012. From this, and knowing that Reeder starts her arc from issue 4, Dustin shrewdly deduced that we can expect 'Batwoman' #1 in November- but keep your eyes on DC's solicitations in August to see if this prediction reigns true. Now, as far as actual delays…

C2E2 is right around the corner and I am preparing like a mad man. This year will be bigger than last year and I am treating it as such. I have arranged a couple of exclusives that you will have to check out throughout the weekend for. In addition to that, I am always looking to meet fans of the site. I know there are a few people who contacted me ahead of time and told me they were planning on going. If you are going any day this weekend to…

Another DVD came out a couple weeks back and I wanted to make sure to tell you about. Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics was announced out of nowhere back in July. San Diego Comic Con was right around the corner and the programming was released. Among the normal panels we would cover, I noticed a panel scheduled for Friday night for a screening of a film called Secret…

So you may have noticed that we were a wee bit late with news from Friday and from over the weekend from Baltimore Comic Con. Well, there is a very good reason for that. As some of you may have known from listening to the podcasts, my wife and I were expecting our first child. Well, on Thursday at 10:13PM CST, our first child was born. And not to forget about The Batman Universe, his name is Damian Alexander Fritschel. We should be caught up very shortly. In the meantime, check out my new sidekick.
