So here is my report on a very eventful first day at Kapow. Firstly, it seems the event had plenty of coverage with the Business Design Centre packed full of punters from the start. Inside the building we had the IGN arena as your first point of call with video games set up, sofas to chill out on and watch some of the newest movies, plus a stage with IGN events on all day. Further through the building we had the regular floor with loads of…

It's a sad, sad time in England. What with rising living costs, budget cuts and, perhaps worse of all, the end of 'Knight and Squire'. I think we should all have a minutes silence for this tragic loss… ok, that being said I think it's time I gave my review. The issue opens up at a crime scene, superhero/pop star Jade Peabody has been shot dead. It's revealed that the Joker did it because she may have been able to foresee his…

The penultimate issue of the 'Knight and Squire' min-series 'For Six' is among us and oh boy is it a good on! We open the issue with a good old fashioned double entendre and we know we're in for another silly but undoubtedly fun ride in the Knight and Squire universe, however, after this light-hearted opening we find out that Jarvis Poker (The British Joker) is terminally ill. In a traditional British, stiff-upper-lip fashion, Jarvis attempts to make light of the…

Knight and Squire #3 is another solid comic from the creative team of Paul Cornell and Jimmy Broxton. However, something about this issue just didn’t grab me. It sure wasn’t the art, which is nice, and pretty, but also different from what I’ve come to expect from a comic, but not too different. Maybe it’s the story, that just didn’t grab me, I mean sure it had some good ideas, but it didn’t really have any oomph. Now many of you out…

Remember how last month I thought Knight and Squire #1 was awesome? Well, #2 is….nowhere near as good. I mean sure the opening sequence with Beryl in a newsagents buying a magazine was good, and sure the Knight Cave looked cool, but after that, the book just falls apart. The story of the issue is Knight and Squire versus a black magic wielding Morris dancer, and how do you make that dull? Easy, you don’t actually have them facing the black magic…
