"The Gristle and the Ghostly", the concluding part in "The Death of Oracle" story-arc, opens with a fantastic, immediately recognizable, close-up of Helena Bertinelli – Huntress: needless to say she's angry, challenging Calculator to explain his actions after he orders Oracle's aircraft to be shot from the sky.
For once Calculator is a little lost for words, stammering somewhat as he tries to justify his actions. As his men look on Helena senses her captors vulnerability and looks to exploit the situation…

This seventh part of the 8-part 'Bruce Wayne: The Road Home' series of one-shots launches with a head-and-shoulders splash page of Barbara Gordon – Oracle of course – bathed by the soft green light of her computer terminal. 'Oh crap' she says out loud, and at the same time to herself, as she's monitoring the activities of The Seven Men of Death.
Ra's al Ghul's personal hit squad are, we're told, in town searching for Vicki Vale … but why?

I think we can all agree with a singular statement: Batman: Streets of Gotham is, at best a sub-par, if not brief and forgettable chronicle of Batman’s trials and tribulations. Nothing within the past 4 or 5 issues has really stuck out in the sense that you want to whip it out and read it again. Sure, if we’re really pulling at strings, the whole Carpenter/Director thing was alright, and the introduction of Colin and his conversations with Damian were ok. I guess…

Once again, the DC Comics solicits have lead us astray. No you say? Unfortunately, yes. While we all could have expected the latest issue of Streets of Gotham to be the second part of Mike Benson’s two part arc, the solicits said otherwise. The previews stated that Paul Dini would be returning to the title, however, he didn’t. None the less, Benson pens the conclusion to the “Hardcore Nights” storyline.
Some fans may be disappointed with issue number nine, but not me. Benson doesn’t present the reader with…

After a one issue stint on Streets of Gotham number seven, Paul Dini again takes a break from the title and hands the writing duties over to guest writer Mike Benson. Benson gives us part one of the two part story arc titled, “Hardcore Nights”. Dustin Nguyen remains to be as good as they get, and Mike Benson writes a shockingly excellent story.
Paul Dini’s absence from the title has proven to me that other writers should be taking a crack at this title. Streets of Gotham #8…
