We continue with this dandy. Not sure if they were inspired by Neal Adams’ classic renderings of Batman and Ra’s al Ghul having a bare chested sword fight in the desert, but the Knight Force Ninjas line of the late 1990s did produce this: Posted by Steve J. Rogers

This is probably my favorite image of the Demon's Head. Perhaps it is because for once, he and the Detective are not at each other's throats. Instead, within the pages of Son of the Demon, Batman has become the Demon's heir apparent and has decided he will take Talia for his bride and take over the League of Assassins. Here, they play the only game these two should play; chess. A terribly appropriate image and it reminds me how similar they are to Holmes and…

This exceptional artwork is done by the talented Mr. John Van Fleet. Taken from Chuck Dixon's The Chalice, about Batman's quest to retrieve and protect the Holy Grail, who else but the Demon's Head would come to claim it. Here we see him locked in battle with his greatest foe, The Detective, as he refers to our dear Dark Knight. Posted by Chris Gering

Artwork here is provided by the incredibly gifted Kevin Nowlan, known for his exceptional work on Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen books. This image is taken also from the VS System trading card game from Upper Deck Entertainment. Though most of the best images of Ra's are usually in a Lazarus Pit, this one is truly eerie and chilling. Well done, Mr. Nowlan. Posted by Chris Gering

This is an illustration for the VS System trading card game from Upper Deck Entertainment. Artwork is provided by Ariel Olivetti. I felt this represented the Demon's Head in his most scheming visage. In the right lighting, Ra's is terrifying. It's no wonder he earned the name the Demon's Head. Posted by Chris Gering

For the first image of the Dark Knight's greatest adversary, second only to the Joker of course, we shall begin with an impressive illustration from Birth of the Demon. Artwork by Norm Breyfogle. This image is chilling and reminds us of the cost of al Ghul's soul which he pays in return for using the Lazarus Pit. This is one of the most amazing books about the Demon, and it is his origin book. We can all thank Denny O'Neil for introducing…
