Upon realizing that this was the conclusion to the Judgment of Gotham crossover, I didn’t really know what to think. In my head I was telling myself that no matter what, there’s no way that this book will be worth my time. This is Batman, not Azrael. Azrael had his own title and it failed. I was judging this issue by its cover, but it was hard to fight. That being said, I actually enjoyed this one mildly. This has nothing to do with low expectations; I…

Before I start this review, I best say something very important. I don’t like Azrael. I’ve read Knightfall, all three volumes of that story, and the story itself, to give it a short review, it was a bit crap. This is probably going to get some people saying “You can’t hate Knightfall! The Dark Knight Rises is going to be based on that!!” I respond to these comments thusly “Sploosh!” When was the last time you read Knightfall? It was a garbage storyline, that…

When I think of Azrael, I think of Micheal Lane kicking the tar outta some random thug with his duel swords, and maybe a good story to go with it. This issue fails in just about most of that criteria. Not to mention the terrible art, but moving past that lets hop into the story: You see we open up with a badly drawn flashback of Micheal Lane asking a priest about the power of faith. Then we go to present day were an unmasked Azrael is at the…

Red Robin #6 marks the debut on the series of artist Marcus To and inker Ray McCarthy on both the cover and interior of the book replacing Francis Manapaul, who handled the covers, and Ramon Bachs, who did interiors, respectively. The fact that this is the second issue in a four issue arc, and the art team has been changed is not a thing I like to see in the middle of stories, even if it is getting rid of Bachs distinct change from Red Robin…
