TBU Review Roundup 2/15


 

Below you will find brief descriptions of this week’s comics along with the ratings. Below the main TBU titles will be the DC Universe specific titles that feature characters from The Batman Universe. Rather than giving in depth reviews for those titles, we will be describing what happens in the book involving TBU characters and how it possibly impacts the story.

 

Main TBU Books

Batman #17: Batman takes the Bat-Family and leaves them at the Fortress of Solitude, all while Bane takes down Bronze Tiger, James Gordon, Duke Thomas and Catwoman. -Matthew 2.5/5

 

Nightwing #15: Dick begins his relationship with Shawn in the issue as we see the first couple of months of the two together. -David 4.5/5

 

Batwoman: Rebirth #1: Batwoman’s origin is showed through a variety of flashback as well as setting up a war with the Colony. -Jessica 3/5

 

Harley Quinn #14: Harley deals with another strange attack this time by some oversized green ants and their leader. While that is occurring, Harley Sinn is broken out of a prison transport and given a target. -David 3/5

 

Mother Panic #3: Mother Panic runs into Batwoman who is investigating her motives. After getting away from Batwoman, Mother Panic comes face to face with Gala only to have to save the children from a fire rather than catching Gala. -Gerry 3.5/5

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4: After Scarecrow and Joker are taken down, Batman and the Turtles realize that Mad Hatter may be the one behind the interdimensional portals. -Paul 3.5/5

 

Main DC Universe Books

Super Sons #1: Damian and Jon investigate break-ins at Lex Corp, only to be caught by Lex. Later they battle robot versions of themselves in the jungle. -Jessica 5/5

 

Trinity #6: After Mongul takes control of Superman’s body, Wonder Woman and Batman team up with the White Mercy to take Mongul down. The arc comes to a close with a simple dinner with all of the Trinity. -Bill 4/5

 

Justice League #15: Batman and Superman face a new Earth while the rest of the League begin the struggle to correct the changes in time caused by a new threat. -Jim 4/5

 

Secondary DC Universe Books (involving TBU cameos and digital firsts)

Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #5: Batgirl, Joker and Batman all appear in the issue’s back-up story.

 

Green Arrow #17: Black Canary fights alongside Team Arrow against Merlyn.

 

Green Lanterns #17: As the team-up with Batman comes to a close, the Green Lanterns assist Batman in taking down the Scarecrow. James Gordon and Alfred also appear.

 

Injustice: Ground Zero #6 (digital chapters #11-12): After fighting with Harley against Black Adam, Shazam still decides to stay with the Regime.

 

Teen Titans Go #20 (digital chapters 39-40): Dick Grayson’s Robin appears alongside the Teen Titans as they deal with sharing spring break with their villains and Robin clogging up the toilet in titans Tower with poems for Starfire.
