The Michigan Film Office has confirmed that the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel will be shooting in Detroit and the areas around the city with Detroit doubling as Gotham City and Metropolis. Filming will start in early 2013 and the entire production is expected spend around $131 million and create around 400 full time jobs during the shoot.
Zack Snyder recently commented and talked a bit about the city of Detroit and how it will fit with the movie:
"Detroit is a great example of a quintessential American city, and I know it will make the perfect backdrop for our movie."
Snyder also said that Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will all be reprising their roles in the upcoming film.
The Batman/Superman film will be released on July 17, 2015.
