There has been some confusion amongst the collector community in regards to the upcoming Batman Beyond figure as part of the DC Multiverse line from McFarlane Toys. Originally when the Batman Beyond figure was announced, it was said to be part of the main collector line. But more recently, a new image was released stating that the figure was a Target exclusive. Interestingly, fans needed to look a little closer at the pieces that were shown. For the sake of focus, below is the first figure revealed and then what some assumed was the same figure revealed as an ad for the figure coming to Target.
You’ll notice that there is a difference with the mold for the head. The original version revealed features the classic take from the animated series while the second one features a version more common in the more recent comics.
Now, it has been confirmed that the first one will be made available to all retailers while the second one (without the mouthpiece) will be the exclusive version available at Target. Full details for both figures have been revealed at McFarlane Toys’ site clearing up any confusion with two different listings for the figures.
So for now, you can preorder the Target exclusive figure by heading directly over to their site. The other figure has yet to pop up on the other retailers, but it should soon. Other than the differences in the head mold, there are a few other differences including different accessories and the Target figure includes the first of four Collect-to-Build pieces.
