I'm going to be honest with you… I'm not really sure what's going on here. I was hoping that after the last issue, this one would immediately clear some things up, but it didn't. In fact, it just got more confusing. Batman has been "killed" by Mongul, and is then brought back as some sort of cyborg, and now has the powers, such as super strength, flight, and laser vision. And with both Batman and Superman angry because of the strange pollen from last issue, and Batman now having powers, he keeps Superman busy so that Mongul can sit back and watch.
We also learn that Mongul's undercover helper is an alien also, as Superman sees that she has crystal bones. And now she plans on expanding the player pool, so that more characters can join. Jimmy Olsen, and his fellow game players also have realized that what they are seeing, is actually happening, and it isn't a game.
If this review seems like not much happened, and is confusing, then I just got across how I felt after reading this issue. Brett Booth's art is it's usual self. I like how Batman's look changed when he is brought back. But if it wasn't for that, I would have no idea what happened.
