It was reported late last week that Toonami had moved Beware the Batman from its current time slot at 2:30AM ET to 2:00AM ET starting on October 4. In a weird twist of events, it seems that all seven of the final episodes will air this coming Saturday, September 27.
According to The World’s Finest, the programmers behind the Toonami block were informed early Monday that the show will be “financially written off” by Cartoon Network by the end of the month. The Toonami programmers responded with an announcement of a marathon that will begin at 2:30AM ET this Saturday. After the end of the month, it seems that Cartoon Network will not only not air any episodes but no longer be able to broadcast the episodes on the network.
This could in fact be due to the fact that the second part of the first season is set to release from Warner Archive on September 30, although we can not confirm that. The show had poor reception from the beginning and although the episodes have improved according to our own reviews, the series was first put out hiatus by Cartoon Network out of nowhere last October and in turn cancelled before the half way point of the first season.
World’s Finest provided episode descriptions for the final episodes:
