Beware the Batman to Be Toned Down

Beware the Batman was heavily promoted at Comic Con International this year and is set to debut next year. Variety is reporting from multiple sources that Warner Bros. Animation is changing some of the elements for the series based off of recent shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

Elements related to guns will be changed to be less realistic. The barrels of the weapons will be more square instead of round to appear more sci-fi-like instead of more realistic. This would seem to similar to the way that weapons were depicted in Batman: The Animated Series.

This change is said to come from executive producer and Warner Bros. Animation VP Sam Register. No word on how this will effect the show's debut.
