An inventory issue of the Birds of Prey written by Chuck Dixon with art by Lito Fernandez has been unveiled in Dixon’s official website. Inventory issues are backup stories made for the publishers in case any of their creators fails to deliver an issue, and they are usually kept under covers or are never published.
This particular one depicts the Birds of Prey in an Elseworlds storyline in which they are pilots for the Flying Aces in World War II. The issue is uncolored and unlettered, so, albeit not impossible, it does take a bit of effort to follow the plot. An effort sure worthy, considering this is Dixon, the first man to write them, revisiting the Birds.
