If you were thinking that DC was going to be slowing down on the number of titles releasing in the coming months, you are going to be disappointed. After numerous series kicked off in May, another new event takes the place of Heroes in Crisis wrapping up with Brian Michael Bendis’ first monthly series involving Batman outside of the Walmart giant. Event Leviathan is said to feature a number of the DC Universe’s secret organizations and put multiple characters in focus including Batman.
The other highlighted release for the month is the advance solicit for the upcoming DC Ink title, Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass. The new title will actually hit stores the end of August, but is advanced solicited for as is common for the DC Ink and DC Zoom titles.
Looking over noteworthy mentions for the month, artist Kyle Hotz will be attached to Detective Comics #1006, as the Arkham Knight story arc wraps in #1005. Hotz appears to be on the title for a single issue as the solicit for #1006 states it will feature the Spectre in what appears to be a one-off story.
The Batman Who Laughs miniseries comes to an end in June. There have been multiple reports that the character will be appearing elsewhere in the future, so fans of the diabolical version of Batman may not have to wait long to see him reappear.
Also worth noting is that outside of Kyle Hotz coming on to Detective Comics for an issue, there is only one other creative switch from May. Young Justice will see John Timms and Elena Casagrande on the sixth issue of the series. While it is unknown if they are only coming on for a single issue or another team to rotate for the series, Patrick Gleason is taking the month off.
Outside of our normal coverage, there is very little to note as far as the involvement of TBU characters elsewhere. It seems TBU’s coverage of Deathstroke will end in May as the series heads out of its involvement with the Batman Universe for the first time in over a year this June. Action Comics promises to be tied to the Event Leviathan story as it also has been setting the story up for months as well.
Be sure to check out the full details for everything hitting stores in June below as well as a gallery of some of the covers coming. Let us know which books you are the most excited for this month.
