With DC Comics moving from New York to California, one of DC's top Group Editors will not be joining them.
Mike Marts, Group Editor of Batman Titles, will sadly not be joining DC Comics in California. Marts has instead moved over to Marvel Comics will be joining as Executive Editor. He was previously at Marvel from 1996 to 2006 as Senior Editor and head of X-Men Titles, then joined DC Comics as Group Editor working with Grant Morrison and has helped bring about Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo for New 52 Batman. Marts shared some of his comments about joining Marvel:
It's amazing to see how Marvel has grown as a company since I worked there last,” Marts added in the announcement. “I am beyond thrilled to be rejoining this powerhouse at such an exciting time.
Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief, congratulated Marts return and is excited to see what the editor has in store for Marvel.
Back in 2009, Dustin had a chance to interview Mike Marts for the website and he discussed how running the Bat-books went. From all of us at TBU, we wish Marts well on his move.
As of now, there is no knowledge of who will be taking Marts spot as Batman group editor.
