What do you get when you combine the popularity of the DC Super Hero Girls cartoon, with the success of their LEGO counterparts? The answer may be found in LEGO DC Super Hero Girls: Super Villain High, a new original animated movie coming this year from WB Animation. Along with revealing the May 1 digital and May 15 home video release dates, Warner Bros. has also dropped a trailer to get fans excited.
From the looks of it, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Killer Frost, Cheetah, and Catwoman enroll at Uber High, a competing high school to Super Hero High that has a shady agenda for the foursome: turning them into villains. It’s only through the power of friendship, visual gags, and some good old-fashioned action that the girls will find their way back to the good side of the battle. Along for the ride are Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Jessica Cruz along with cameos from Beast Boy and Wildcat.
Fans of the show will be happy to know the humor and girl power message of the animated series is fully intact and the movie should serve as a fine continuation of the already popular franchise. The DVD release will also include six animated shorts as well.
