Today, the founder of Deadline, Nikki Finke, released her first article on her newly launched site, NikkiFinke.com. The article claims to reveal the roadmap for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s plans for the live action films. We already know the announced Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the following Justice League film, but now Finke claims that WB will reveal their plans through 2018 at Comic Con International next month.
All of the projects are other DC properties, but besides Batman v Superman, no other Batman filmed is planned as of now. Here is what is supposedly in the pipeline:
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
While this should be still classified as a rumor for now, the most interesting thing to note is the number of films per year that WB is planning on releasing. This would actually be more films then Disney/Marvel plan on releasing in the coming years. WB does have stiff competition as Fox, Sony and Disney all have properties that have announced films that will be releasing in the coming years.
According to Finke, their are multiple camoes planned for the various films. She also claims that the reason that Batman v Superman was pushed back was so that it could be tweaked so that the film would serve as a better lead in for the Justice League film.
So what do you think? Is three movies too much? Which film are you excited for?
