The Source has announced a new digital first project that will release its first issue tomorrow.
Some may remember Dustin Nguyen's Little Gotham. Whether you have seen his prints or read the back-ups in the annuals a few years back. Now the Little Gotham characters are coming back for the holidays.
Holiday themed issues are planned for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. These issues will be released digitally on DC online comic store.
Dustin Nguyen shared the following comments on the project:
This has been a passion project of mine for some time now, and for anyone that’s followed my work, I’m sure it’s more of an ‘its about time!’ The look and style is a slight departure from my usual (think the exact opposite of serious), but the idea has always been the same—to take our favorite existing Gotham characters, place them in fun scenarios without having to be tied to just one continuity or look and feel. It’s basically a Batman book for fans, by two huge fans.
Derek Fridolfs shared:
At times in various platforms, Batman has been extremely dark and taken very seriously. So respectfully, we’re going in the opposite direction and having a bit of whimsical fun with a whole city of characters beloved by fans and especially ourselves. Li’l size…big enjoyment.
Based off the image released, it seems that there could be more plans for other holidays down the line as well. As to when these may be released in print form is anyone's guess right now. Look for the first Li'l Gotham tomorrow.
