Today we bring word of some new figures from McFarlane Toys. But it is needed to say that these were actually revealed a while back. At the end of November, McFarlane Toys updated the DC Retro line on their site to include three new figures as what we would call wave 2. These three new figures were revealed without a lot of details including where they would be available.
The first wave of the line included Batman, Robin, Joker, a Batmobile, and the Batcave playset all based on the Batman ’66 television series. The catch was that all of these were said to be Target exclusive items. For the most part, that proved to be the case with the figures never appearing anywhere else outside of the second market. So when this new wave of figures was announced it was odd that they were not immediately announced as Target exclusives. Even on McFarlane’s website, it still doesn’t list where they will be available, but state a release date of 2021.
That brings us to today as Target has posted listings for all three figures and by the looks of the listings, they are starting to pop up in stores. The DC Retro wave 2 includes a swim shorts version of Batman, Riddler, and a swim shorts version of Joker. One would assume that eventually, we will see Penguin and Catwoman release as well. Riddler may have taken priority due to his role in the upcoming The Batman. That said, the figures are priced at $17.99 and are available right away. If you happen to be looking for them in stores, these typically can be found in the collector section of the store near the movies and books rather than the toy section where the majority of DC Multiverse figures are found.
