By now it’s painfully clear the reception Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice received from critics. Among the many complaints was the lack of levity and humor, with some painting the film as too serious and “joyless”. While our review disagreed, it seems as though DC was listening to not only the Batman v Superman reception, but also the positive reaction to the Bohemian Rhapsody led Suicide Squad trailer.
Births.Movies.Death are quoting a close and trusted source as stating Warner Bros. have thrown tens of millions into the reshoots to add humor the film. As the source said “Every joke in the movie is in that trailer,” so it makes sense for the studio to push forward with a different tone given its huge response. While this could result in a clunky mess, there’s enough talent in front and behind the camera to trust that any complications are in capable hands.
Suicide Squad is set to release on August 5, 2016.
