In a surprise turn of events, Warner Bros. is looking for directors for Suicide Squad and their list includes Mel Gibson according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mel Gibson famously blasted the superhero genre last year and even went as far as calling Batman v Superman a piece of s**t. It is good to see that WB doesn’t hold a grudge.
Mel Gibson confirmed the rumor by stating that he is getting acquainted with the source material before coming to a decision. Gibson is in demand as his latest directorial project, Hacksaw Ridge, was nominated for multiple Academy Awards.
And just to throw some other names in the ring, THR also states that other directors are also being considered for the sequel including Daniel Espinosa, who is best known for the Denzel Washington film, Safe House.
