After months of questions of whether or not Marion Cotillard would be cast in The Dark Knight Rises, we were given an official press release from Warner Bros. stating that she was cast and would be playing a Wayne Enterprises board member.
Well, it looks like that may not be the whole truth, as we suspected. According to an interview with the LA Times' 24 Frames, she added a little bit of fuel to the current rumors of her role in the film.
Asked by 24 Frames in a recent interview about her part in the film, Cotillard responded with a coy, "My role is a secret, as is the whole project." So speculation about who she'll actually be — from a love interest of Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne/Batman to a more shadowy character — can run riot.
So we can continue to believe that Tate may not be entire role that will be shown in The Dark Knight Rises.
