Issue three, as usual, was co-plotted by Paul Jenkins and David Finch, with writing by the former and pencils by the latter. The issue opens where we left, with the hulked up Joker attacking Batman. As they battle and destroy the train, Batman claims he thought Joker retired, Joker says he came back to retire Batman first. Batman attempts to warn Joker of the side effects of the toxin he's got running through his veins, but Joker dismisses it…

Bruce Wayne Triumphant
In this second installment of “Batman: The Iconic Art of the New 52” I’m going to examine a frame taken from Batman #2 as illustrated by Greg Capullo with inks by Jonathan Glapion and colors by FCD. The purpose of this ongoing series is to assess whether the “New 52” gives us different look at how the iconic Batman is depicted.

Greetings Bat-boys and girls. To spice things up for you all, my editor has asked me a superbly wonderful question: Who would win in a fight? Batman, or … ? That’s the best part. We will be looking through the best match-ups of Batman vs. another hero or villain in the DC Universe. We’ll look at several fights, some of these having been fought countless times in normal continuity as well as in the Elseworld titles. There are several match-ups that have already been considered, and…

We are all really big fans of Dustin Nguyen around here at TBU. The artist pencils wonderful images in and outside the comic book panels. Nguyen has also made a name for himself drawing a series of pieces under the "Little Gotham" label. Recently, Super Punch posted up a new piece put together but Nguyen titled, "Ladies of Gotham". The image is pretty fantastic, which is a word I use frequently when describing Nguyen's artwork. You can purchase the image online here. What do you think of the image?

Batman: The Dark Knight #2 was written by Paul Jenkins and drawn by David Finch. As usual, they co-plotted the issue. The issue opens with Two-Face, who I commented looked like he was on steroids, beating the tar out of Batman. The motif of fear and our relationship to it continue as Batman's inner monologue during the beating. Two-Face tells Batman he's learned fear is what stops people from really living. He waxes poetic about how losing…

There has been much hype and ballyhoo about the “New 52” and if I can be allowed this editorial comment, a lot of it has been provided by DC itself. However, this will not be the thrust of this new ongoing series by myself but if DC is going to go all the trouble of re-inventing itself and its product then it must allow for some closer scrutiny. So, if DC is truly going to jump start or re-invent itself then I thought it would be fun to see if this is passed along,…
