The announcement that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel has had fans split on the decision. Some people like it while some people despise it. Family Guy actor Seth Green is part of the latter group of fans who do not like the fact that Affleck will be the next Batman on the Hulu+ show "Larry King Now".
If this movie is meant to be the idealistic alien, humans before all else Superman, and this is supposed to be the grizzled, weathered Batman who’s been living in Gotham, fighting crime himself for 10 years, you need a guy who’s older. You need a guy who’s got more weight. You need a guy that a Henry Cavill Superman is gonna be actually scared of. You have to remember that Batman is just a dude. He’s got no powers. So the fact that Superman is scared of him says something about the gravitas he carries. And it’s not just because he’s willing to kill. It’s because he’s scary.”
King then went on to defend Affleck as Batman but Green stood his ground saying that Ben Affleck as Batman is the same as him being an MMA fighter facing off against Batista.
The next day though, Green did a little damage control saying that he thinks that Affleck is actually a really good actor, writer, and director.
