While Warner Bros. is in the midst of building their DC cinematic universe, the studio has also released information about their theme park currently under construction in Abu Dhabi. Variety reports that the theme park will include attractions and rides based on their most popular characters, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Known as Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the iconic cities of Gotham City and Metropolis will also be brought to life, along with cartoon world’s dedicated to Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera. The park is aiming to open in 2018 after costing $1 billion to construct and expecting between 25-30 million visitors per year.
It’s difficult to see how authentic a Gotham City would be given without the constant crime waves. Suffice to say I will not be attending any shows at the Monarch with my parents.
