Just after a week of hearing some news for the solo Batman film, The Hollywood Reporter has reported the negotiations for Matt Reeves to helm the film have broken down. While most sites are stating that he left the project, he technically was never attached to the project in an official capacity.
As we reported last week, Reeves is in the middle of post-production on his latest film, War of the Planet of the Apes, and that might have had something to do with the timing of what WB had planned to get the Batman film underway. Reeves may not have had enough time to juggle both projects at this time, but the report does state that talks could resume after some cooling down.
So for now, we are back where we were late last month with Affleck playing Batman but no director attached to the project. Stay tuned for more news as this develops.
