The Batman Run series is returning in 2021 with a virtual run for the second year in a row. The run series first began in 2019 with a physical run located in California and other locales around the world. Due to the global pandemic, the run was held exclusively in a virtual format in 2020 with participants registering online and sending in their run times virtually. Now in 2021, the run series will again take place virtually as things start getting back to a sense of normalcy.
This time around the series has teamed with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as their official charity for the event. There are also some other new additions to the series. 2021 will continue the trend of having exclusive swag available for the participants. The standard swag bag will include a Batman hoodie with pockets, a Batman visor, a personalized run bib, and a DC Batman virtual run finisher’s medal. In addition to the standard swag, there are also some items you can add during registration including a Batman running headband, a Batman utility pack, and a pair of Batman compression arm sleeves.
The other new aspect is that they are combining participant efforts in the other DC run series that focus on Wonder Woman and Superman. If you register for all three events, participants will receive an exclusive Justice League medal. This is the first time that this has been an option.
The event will have three options when partaking. There will be a one-mile option, a 5K option, and a 10K option to participate in – walk or run. Since the race is virtual you will be able to participate anywhere and anytime as long you complete your race by January 31, 2022. Registration for the event starts at $40. You can find full details for the 2021 Batman Run on the DC Batman Run website or you can head directly over the site to register now for the event.
