Like countless stories before, Batman: The Enemy Within comes down to a face-off between Batman and the Joker. What’s different this time around are the motivations driving Batman’s greatest foe. In the season finale of the Telltale game, players will finally see the outcome of all their choices: either a Joker who is a vigilante, or a Joker who is a villain. According to the press release:
“Who would you choose: a friend whose unhinged approach to justice turns your allies against you, or a sworn enemy who will stop at nothing to see you suffer as your city burns? Based on the relationship you’ve built with John Doe, you’ll see one of two very different stories play out. So what’ll it be, Bruce: friend…or foe?”
As the description indicates, Same Stitch features two totally separate takes on the fully evolved John Doe: one a ruthless villain that hews closer to the classic Clown Prince of Crime and the other an unpredictable vigilante that’s unlike any other portrayal of DC’s iconic Super-Villain.
To hold fans over until the March 27 release date are two trailers highlighting the very different versions of the Joker that you can check out below. I’m fairly confident my play through will take me down the vigilante route for a hopefully fully unique characterization of the Clown Prince of Crime.
Batman: The Enemy Within – Same Stitch will release on all major gaming platforms Tuesday, March 27. Expect our full review soon after.
