This weekend is New York Comic Con and surprisingly, actual news is being announced. After acting as the head of Batman’s team in Detective Comics, Batwoman will be getting her own series beginning February 2017 the news coming from The Hollywood Reporter.
Kicking off with a Rebirth one-shot in February, the first issue of the new series will release in March following a monthly format. The creative team behind the series will include writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Steve Epting.
The other news is that there will be a short intro to her solo series with a two issue story arc in the pages of Detective Comics called “Batwoman Begins.” It will be co-written with James Tynion IV alongside Bennett. Tynion also confirmed on Twitter that Batwoman will still have a prominent role in the pages of Detective Comics in addition to her solo series.
