Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure gets its own DC figures.
Gamestop has put up the first wave of DC Scribblenauts figures featuring two Batman characters. Each figure will stand at 2.25" tall for $4.95. However, there is a catch to buying these figures. These figures will come as a blindbox, meaning you will not know which figure you have until you have purchased it. Kevin Kiniry, Vice President of Creative Services explains why they are using the blindbox method:
We were looking at what's going on in the market. In the U.S., blind box is being accepted a lot more than it used to be. It used to only be the imports from Japan where they could get away with it. Now you're seeing U.S. manufacturers also getting that blind box out there. We still want to hold true to our authentic collectible nature and for us that's mixing the blind box in with the really affordable price. You want people looking for it. You want these to be special, for these to be a community of people trading things back and forth. There's something really exciting about that.
DC Collectibles is planning to do about two waves of DC Scribblenauts figures. Even though the game has about two thousand characters in the game, DC Collectibles hopes that fans will support the figures to expand into vehicles and different figurine variants.
