Bat-Nipples and More

It always seems like it is a great time to be a Bat-Fan. There are new films being released, television shows being greenlit, tons of merchandise, and a steady stream of merchandise. But there was a time when something divided the fandom and that thing was Bat-Nipples.

Bat-Nipples were something that was first added to the Bat-Suit in 1995 for Batman Forever. While for the film they seemed like an odd decision, in 1997, Batman and Robin amped it up even more. Over the years, there has been some explanation on why the Bat-Suit featured the anatomically correct areolas, but recently a couple of interviews have brought them back into view.

The first was an interview with the lead sculptor for the film, Jose Fernandez in which he discussed the infamous decision to include the nipples on the Bat-Suit. There also was an interview with Tim Burton on his decision not to return for a third film, but was oft-put by nipples on the Bat-Suit.
