A few weeks ago, the Batman Universe was abuzz when news broke that Batman group editor Ben Abernathy was leaving his role for a new position outside of DC Comics. Today, the Batman news buzz picked up again when Batman writer Chip Zdarsky announced on his Substack that Katie Kubert would be editing Batman. However, after some digging, The Beat confirmed that Kubert would only serve in this role on a temporary basis nd only on the main Batman title.
This makes more sense. Currently, Kubert serves as the senior editor of DC’s global line, which includes several projects such as DC’s partnership with Webtoons, Fortnite, several horror lines and more.
There is still no word from DC Comics as to who Abernathy’s permanent replacement will be.
