LEGO has announced a number of new sets coming in celebration for Batman’s eightieth anniversary. There were two sets that were released featuring DC superheroes earlier this year and Batman appeared along with a few other DC characters in a number of LEGO Movie 2 sets as well. But what most fans were waiting for was a full line of DC-themed sets to be announced. Typically the DC sets are spread out throughout the year rather than having them release all at once and the past few years had seen a decrease in DC sets specifically because of the LEGO Batman Movie sets that took up a ton of space on store shelves.
That being said, LEGO revealed a total of six sets coming later this year which will also be packaged in boxes featuring the special Batman anniversary logo. The new sets include new versions of Mr. Freeze, Joker, Riddler, Clayface, Two-Face, Jim Gordon, Robin, Batwoman, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn. The Batman featured in many of the sets features the Rebirth style costume as well. Two of the sets are geared for a younger audience as they fall in the line previously called Juniors which includes easy to build sets for younger fans. There are also a number of new elements featured in the sets in either new colors or new pieces all together. All of these sets are scheduled to arrive in stores at the beginning of August.
