The 2018 Toy Fair is coming this weekend from February 17-20, and that means we’re about to see an avalanche of awesome new toys and collectibles. We may still be a few days away but that hasn’t stopped Mattel from releasing a sneak peek to Yahoo! Sports of what’s to come and we’ve got a breakdown of the figures and vehicles on display.
Batman 6-Inch Batmobile (Fall 2018; $29.99) First up is Batman’s iconic ride, the Batmobile. This six-inch toy features firing weapons and a design that seems to fuse the animated series and Batman Returns into a unique look.
Batman Knight Missions Air Power Blast Attack Batman & Batcycle Figure & Vehicle (Fall 2018; $19.99) Next we have a Batcycle that comes with Batman in his New 52 suit featuring the bat logo with a yellow outline. The cycle itself is gold, black, and purple and, like the Batmobile features firing weapons.
12-Inch Figures (Fall 2018; $9.99) Moving away from vehicles and on to the characters themselves, Mattel will be releasing 12-inch versions of Batman in his New 52 look, Batgirl in a purple-hued version of her classic costume, Joker in a tuxedo, and Robin in a more tactical version of his suit featuring black pants and an armored chest piece.
Batman 6-Inch Multiverse Figure Assortment (Spring 2018; $19.99) If your collection is missing some of the more obscure Batman characters, the Multiverse assortment will be up your alley as it features James Gordon’s Batman armored suit, Wonder Woman, Batwing, Batman, and Reaper.
Batman 6-Inch Battle in a Box (Fall 2018; $29.99) Based very very loosely on The Dark Knight Rises are the figures featured in the Battle in a Box. Batman with armored gauntlets, Robin in a costume inspired by Tim Drake, and Bane with a light-up chest are all here and ready to reenact the epic finale to the film or come up with your own reasons for pitting these characters against each other.
Batman and Joker 6-Inch Deluxe Figures (Fall 2018; 14.99) Finally we have Batman and Joker going head to head, or more accurately, projectile weapon against projectile weapon in a pair of figures. Batman’s costume is tinged in blue while the Joker seems to be inspired by the DCEU’s version of the character. Each one in the pair comes with a firing weapon that can be used to put an end to their arch nemesis.
Expect many more announcements this week and into the weekend. What character are you hoping shows up in action-figure form at Toy Fair? I for one would love to see Batgirl’s supporting characters from the Burnside run get the toy treatment. Never say never…
