DC Comics has announced a brand new miniseries coming this fall. Actor Paul Dano will be writing a new comic series focused on the origin of the Riddler set in the world of The Batman film.
There are not a ton of details revealed at the moment, as the announcement of the series is the extent of the information. It is known that the Dano will be joined by acclaimed European artist Stevan Subic for art for the miniseries.
This series explores the background of how accountant Edward Nashton went from a simple Gotham City nobody to becoming Batman’s nemesis, setting them on a collision course in the blockbuster feature film.
The new Riddler origin comic will release bi-monthly from Dano and have a total of six issues. The first issue of Riddler: Year One will hit stores in October and barring any delays, the series will be completely released in a year. The new series will be part of the DC Black Label line which means it could lean into the creepiness of the film or could just be designated that way for the sake of continuity.
More information on the series will release as we get closer to October, but in the meantime, head over to theaters to see Dano’s take on the Riddler in The Batman.
