Below you will find brief descriptions of this week’s comics along with the ratings. Below the main TBU titles will be the DC Universe specific titles that feature characters from The Batman Universe. Rather than giving in depth reviews for those titles, we will be describing what happens in the book involving TBU characters and how it possibly impacts the story.
TBU Books
Batman #51: After an earthquake causes power outages in Gotham City, Batman investigates a number of possibilities but it just happens to be coincidence as he gets to spend a quiet night in Gotham seeing a number of the story points from through Snyder and Capullo’s run on Batman. 4.5/5 -Corbin
Dark Knight III: The Master Race #4: Refusing to fight his daughter, Superman is presumably killed at his Fortress of Solitude by the evil Kryptonian, Quar, and his followers. Quar now demands Gotham City to give up the Batman or he will destroy the Earth. 2/5 -Bill
Batman ’66 Meets the Man from U.N.C.L.E. #5 (digital chapters #9-10): The Caped Crusaders are imprisoned in Dr. Hugo Strange’s undersea lair as the villain tries to bring the titular heroes and Batgirl to join his evil crew. 4/5 -Gerry
Grayson #19: Dick discovers secrets regarding Tiger and Helena while trying to stop Dedalus and saving Helena at the same time. 4/5 -Corbin
Batgirl #51: Run down between her new Gordon Clean Energy business and her time as Batgirl, Barbara is coming close to deciding on the next big step in her life – one that may not include Burnside. 3/5 -Donovan
Harley Quinn #27: Harley’s roller derby battle with Red Tool takes an unexpected turn as she has to find a way to survive his devious plan. 3.5/5 -Gerry
We Are Robin #11: When Smiley and his Jokers attack Middletown High School, it is up to the Robins to put aside their differences and bring the gang down. 3.5/5 -Bill
Justice League #49: With the birth of Superwoman’s son, the truce between the Justice League and Crime Syndicate falls apart during the fight with Mobius. As if things could not get worse, Grail shows up and unleashes “Ant-Life” Steve Trevor upon both Mobius and the League. 4/5 -Bill
Teen Titans #19: The Teen Titans, Wonder Woman and Cassandra learn Cassandra’s real reason to recover the Rod of Ascepius. Cassandra is faced with a decision to join Wonder Woman or remain with the Teen Titans and she chooses to stay. 3/5 -Jim
DC Universe Books
Black Canary: Batgirl and Operator make a cameo while Black Canary makes her way to Berlin to save her band members from a ninja cult. Despite finding them, she ends up getting stabbed and presumably dies with the next issue’s tagline hinting at a Lazarus Pit making an appearance.
Deathstroke #17: Deathstroke is in a fight when Red Hood appears and decides to help him out. During the fight, Batman domly appears and tells Jason to leave, which he does leaving Slade by himself. After the fight Ra’s al Ghul makes an appearance and reveals that he has a connection to Slade’s son Jericho.
Justice League 3001 #11: Tina Sung as the futuristic Batgirl/Robin appears in the all female Justice League and helps take down the future Legion of Doom in a familiar oversized robo-batsuit.
Secret Six #13: Having been taken in by Cheshire, Strix is tested with doppelgangers of the Secret Six. Meanwhile the real Six are trying to set up a plan to get her back, but Strix may not want to be rescued since she ends up killing all of the doppelgangers.
Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot and Katana #4: Katana and the Squad escape Kobra and plan a counterattack. Deadshot reveals that Waller wants the Soultaker Sword. Waller sends the new Deadshot along with the Suicide Squad to apprehend the Red Market Board members alive. Deadshot (Will Evans) goes off plan and kills the Board along with Waller’s operative supervising the mission. Waller goes to Lawton for help but he is already gone.
