So yet another rumor has hit the net about filming locations for The Dark Knight Rises. This one may have some significance. Romania Insider posted up an article stating that Nolan visited Bucharest in December to scout locations for his upcoming sequel to The Dark Knight. The article goes on to say that Nolan had discussions with Bucharest's mayor about a number of filming locations including the historic district and Edgar Quinet Street. There was also a discussion about filming at the Palace of Parliament.
In addition to Bucharest, Nolan also visited the salt mines of Turda in northwestern Romania.
It appears the prior list of locations, Los Angeles, UK, and the undetermined city also are making the rounds yet again. Talks about Chicago are back in the bout along with New York City. A few weeks back, Detroit was in the running along with New Orleans. Now that we know the villains will Bane and Catwoman, it is anyone's guess as to where Nolan will shoot The Dark Knight Rises.
