DC Comics has released their solicitations for the month of September 2015. These solicitations include all ongoing titles as well as the various miniseries that tie into Batman family characters. The first thing worthy of note in the September solicitations is that DC will not continue their trend to have large publisher-wide events in the month of September. This could be because DC just had their large Convergence event in April and May of 2015 and/or because the publisher had a “mini-relaunch” in June following Convergence. However, regardless of the reason, all ongoing titles and miniseries will continue their story-arcs without interruption in the month of September. Additionally, several of the Batman-related titles will be receiving annuals in September including Batman, Grayson, New Suicide Squad, and Batman: Arkham Knight.
In the stories continuing in September, we will see an origin story for the new villain Mr. Bloom and a story from Bruce Wayne’s history in Batman #44, while the new Batman and his GCPD task force deal with Joker’s Daughter in Detective Comics #44. Additionally, we get more answers (which the solicitations spoil in advance as solicitations often do) about the fate of Bruce Wayne after Endgame as Superman finds out the truth about the death of Batman in Batman/Superman #24 and Bruce Wayne deals with his life apart from being Batman in Batman Annual #4.
Dick Grayson returns to Gotham for the first time since faking his death in Grayson #12, looks to Superman for advice after finding out that Batman is dead in Grayson Annual #2, and is kidnapped by Midnighter to fight vampires in Russia in Midnighter #4. Batgirl fights Velvet Tiger to save the life of Luke Fox in Batgirl #44. Jason Todd runs afoul of the new Batman in Red Hood/Arsenal #4. Damian and Goliath fight Deathstroke in Robin, Son of Batman #4. The Robins face a devastating loss in We Are Robin #4. Selina deals with an escalating turf war in Catwoman #44. And Tim might have put all of humanity in danger in Batman Beyond #4.
Also in September, Harley Quinn takes on her new city of Los Angeles in Harley Quinn #2o while also continuing her adventures with Power Girl in Harley Quinn and Power Girl #4. The GCPD Midnight Shift is interrogated by Internal Affairs in Gotham by Midnight #9 and the gang at Gotham Academy investigate a suspicious student in Gotham Academy #4.
September will see the Justice League of America still struggling with the forces of the Church of Rao (and potentially the death of Superman) in Justice League of America #4 while Justice League #44 continues the Darkseid War as Darkseid faces the Anti-Monitor.
Lastly, September sees continuing story-lines in other TBU ongoing titles and miniseries like Black Canary, Teen Titans, New Suicide Squad, Bat-Mite, Earth 2 Society, Batman ’66, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Batman: Arkham Knight, Batman: Arkham Knight – Genesis, and DC Comics Bombshells. See the full list of TBU solicitations for the month of September 2015 below.
