DC has released the following solicitations for October 2014. October will see many contiuning titles and story arcs picking up from before the publisher-wide Futures End event in September as well as some new stories, creative teams, and titles. Batman #35 will begin the next big story arc from Snyder and Capullo which is described as "the biggest, deadliest and most epic story yet" from the creative team and which will be titled "Batman: Endgame." While this new event starts in the Batman title, Detective Comics will see the first issue of a two-issue break for its still new creative team for a short story written from Ben Percy and John Paul Leon. Also, we'll see the continuation of the "Robin Rises" story in Batman and Robin which will have Batman travelling to Apokolips in search of Damian's body. October's solicitations also include two issues of Justice League the descriptions of which talk about not just cooperation between Batman and Lex Luthor but also a "joining of Wayne Enterprises and Lex Corp" without speculation as to what end. Lastly, October brings the first annual for Harley Quinn (which, coincidentally, was among the top ten highest selling comic titles for the month of June 2014).
October will also see the contiunation of The New 52: Future's End (which includes a solicitation involving the Joker from the future in issue #23) and Batman Eternal (which will see Gotham plunge into martial law) as ongoing weekly titles. Also, included in October's TBU solicits are the first issues of the third DC weekly title, Earth 2: World's End which is included because of the involvement of the Batman of Earth 2 as well potential ties to the "Robin Rises: storyline and whatever continuity events DC might have planned for next year. Each weekly title will ship five issues in October.
As was already announced on TBU, October will see the beginning of two new TBU titles (Gotham Academy and Arkham Manor – both of which are solicited under the New 52 label (for those who were wondering whether these titles would continuity with other New 52 titles and events) as well as new creative teams and directions for both Batgirl and Catwoman.
Lastly, October's solicitations also include Batman Essentials: Batman: The Black Mirror Special Edition #1 which is described as another promotionally priced special presenting one of the Dark Knight’s greatest tales plus related pages from the 2014 DCE Essential Graphic Novels catalogue.
