Nightwing #133 begins, as Nightwing’s grotesque confrontation with Olivia Pearce plays on all the TV news. Dick sits next to Nightwing-Prime’s medical unit as the people in his life say goodbye to him. First, Maggie Sawyer analyzes Nightwing’s position between Batman and Superman archetypically, and his constant scapegoating – then tells him to regroup and then find the missing children stolen by the Zanni and the Cirque du Sin. Next, Dick’s half-sister Melinda says she and her wife are leaving Bludhaven, and Dick gives her access to the Pennyworth Foundation’s funds and asks her to do good with the money. Lastly, Barbara tells Dick she believes that she and Dick will save the day, like always, then takes Harley on a walk.

While all of Dick’s support structure leaves him, the Martian Manhunter observes the chaos of Bludhaven, repeating over and over again “A Thing That Should Not Be.”

After Maggie, Melinda, and Babs have left, Dick invites Martian Manhunter to appear and make a plan. Against Manhunter’s warning, Dick is determined to penetrate the Zanni’s Fifth Dimensional world of the Cirque du Sin. So the Justice Leaguer helps Dick to dive into that world of danger, where he faces a child shaped monster trying to eat his face, then a simulacrum of Oliva Pearce holding her own head, leading him to the ringmaster.

Martian Manhunter waits in Titans Tower, worrying about Nightwing, hearing the Zanni’s music, and Nightwing Prime’s finger twitches.

Well, this isn’t a good look… (DC Comics)

Analysis

In 2001, Greg Rucka and Ed Brubaker spearheaded a major Batman crossover storyline of Officer Down. Though it metafictionally serves as a touching farewell to Bat-Group Editor Denny O’Neil, in-universe, the story is incredibly frustrating as Batman literally just sits psychotically silently by Jim Gordon’s hospital bed for nearly the entire crossover. In this issue of Nightwing, Dick does exactly the same thing as Maggie, Melinda, and Barbara all talk about him and he barely responds. The whole issue only exists to shuffle around Dick’s supporting cast and get him into the Zanni’s world. And while I appreciate that yes, a superhero must confront his supervillain, the extent of the plan we are privy to is “Nightwing demands that Martian Manhunter help him dive into the Fifth Dimension where his enemy controls reality.” In the immortal words of Iron Man in Avengers (2012), “Not a great plan.” While the metafictional commentary on the Fifth Dimension as the space of creativity is fine (though still very poorly defined in what the themes are trying to actually say about storytelling, the Comics Code, etc), it doesn’t diminish just how stupid Dick’s plan is. Unlike Barbara’s plan to help Dick through the Fifth Dimension with metaphysical soup (referenced in the issue with the still soupy Nite-Mite in a bottle), there’s nothing but sheer “go find the bad guy and let’s him and me fight” given for Nightwing’s plan. Perhaps Dick’s plan will be revealed in the next issue, but in this issue, all we see is despairing recklessness, which is just a hairsbreadth from sheer stupidity.

V. Ken Marion’s art is delightfully energetic – nice to see him add some of the action and expressiveness he loves in his favorite Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, to Dick Grayson, a similar character in look, with a very different moveset. While he doesn’t quite have Dexter Soy’s ability to evoke somber horror, the grotesquerie of Marion’s rendering of the monsters of the Cirque in the final pages was quite nicely rendered.

Dexter Soy’s main cover features Nightwing, face in shadow, holding fists ready to fight, as Martian Manhunter floats behind him above a red circus. Dustin Nguyen provides a more ethereal look, as Nightwing’s torso floats above ghostly buildings in his trademark watercolor style. Elizabeth Torque’s strong linework combines three Nightwing images – a violent fight, Nightwing’s face in intense concentration, and Nightwing falling from a building with his escrima sticks – in a vivid variant composition divided by the outlines of the Nightwing symbol.

Final Thoughts

While Watters deploys some fun structural pieces and V. Ken Marion’s art is delightfully energetic, this issue revolves around exactly one significant choice and act, and feels incredibly padded.

Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #6 begins Steve Trevor grown Trinity crying over the body of Steve Trevor lying dead in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool with a Super Corgi howling on his chest and grown Lizzie Crying by his side. The story jumps back in time to when Steve meets Lizzie as she follows the Super Corgi through a hole it’s made through Steve’s apartment. In spite of the possibility of time paradox and all the dangers of revealing too much when time traveling, Lizzie sits down with Trevor and tells him everything about her Corgi adventures. He can’t help but notice she doesn’t mention him in her stories about life.

He wishes they could spend more time together and Lizzie “remembers” she needs to walk the dog and invites him to come along. The two have a lovely time talking about each other and getting to know each other. However, while eating ice cream together, Lizzie lets slip that she doesn’t know what it’s like to have a father. She avoids the conversation a bit by stopping some crime, but eventually lets him know that today is the day he dies by the hands of the Sovereign, and he will miss everything about Lizzie’s life. She begs him not to go and be killed, but he tells her he is a very selfish guy and refuses to give up  the event that helps create her.

The issue is narrated by Trevor, and he explains that when he is dying, he doesn’t see his own life flash before his eyes, he sees Lizzie’s – Grown Lizzie, Teen Lizzie, Little Lizzie, and her birth. As Diana is creating Lizzie out of Clay and Steve’s hair, the Trinity Trio appear and deliver a message from Daddy! After he dies, he’s going to find a way back. He’s been on the River Stix before and he’ll figure it out.

However, Lizzie sends him a little help. Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #6  ends with Steve rowing on the river where he meets a young dead Jason Todd and the two try to find their way out together. To Be Continued in Wonder Woman.

Review

Words cannot properly portray how much I have loved this series, and this final issue is no exception. The art has been so charming and wonderful through and through, and Tom King, as he is want to do, has hit it out of the park. I almost cried reading this the second time thinking about Steve’s lack of hesitation sacrificing his life. Having met his amazing daughter who exists only because he died and Dianna made her, he knows that the only thing he can do is sacrifice himself to allow her to exist.

There are just so many moments in the issue that draw you in. King allows us to spend time with Steven and lizzie as they get to know each other. It skips through time, but the story also parks on their little conversations about everything and nothing, letting the story breath and take it’s time. You can’t rush love and connection.

And of course, the reader yells in celebration when you realize that Lizzie’s relationship with Jason has now “paid off” story-wise with Robin help Steve find their way off the River Stix.

I can’t wait to pick this story up in trade and I will be following Wonder Woman again.

It’s the 10th anniversary of DC Super Hero Girls: Finals Crisis, and modern-day, grown-up Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley, Ivy, and Beast Boy have received invitations to the most exclusive party in town—their high school reunion. It has been a while since the group has been able to get together, and they are more excited than ever to see their friends again! But this “reunion” isn’t what it seems…no other classmates are present when they arrive for the party! Who could have summoned everyone to Super Hero High? What is really going on?
To find the answers to their questions and the way out of this trap, the heroes will have to take a walk down memory lane. But will this deep dive into their past bring the heroes back to their B.F.F. ways or reopen old wounds?

When a 100-year-old queer speakeasy-turned-bar-turned-restaurant-and-community- space in Gotham announces that it will soon be closing its doors, generations of patrons come to pay their respects—including Alan Scott, the Green Lantern. After all, this is the place where he and his first love, Johnny Ladd, long ago carved their names into the basement wall before it all went to hell…and a love lost is never a love forgotten. But they weren’t the only ones to put their names in the wall over the years, and suddenly queer heroes, villains, and civilians alike from across the DCU—the Question, Midnighter and Apollo, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Bunker, Connor Hawke, and Blue Snowman among them—find themselves spirited away to a strange alternate dimension that seems to provide everything they could possibly want…but at what cost? In this oversize story of interweaving narratives, the vanished will need to come together and look into the very depths of the Starheart itself if they hope to escape that which ensnares them in this triumphant and timely story of community amid chaos!
The DC Pride: The Heart Wants hardcover collection also features an array of additional short stories and illustrations from queer and allied talent, an autobiographical story from Black Lightning creator Jenny Blake, and a very special DC Pride letters column!

The year is 1940, and most of the Western world is embroiled in a war against a fascist regime whose march across Europe shows no sign of defeat. With global war looming and a vicious killer on the loose, it’s a time of fear and paranoia for those living in Gotham! It’s only been a few months since the city was rescued from undead monsters by the masked vigilante known as the Bat-Man, but a vicious killer has been on a murder spree that’s taking the city to its breaking point. Bodies are turning up in theatrically gruesome ways…all staged with the killer’s calling card: a hangman’s noose. While the Bat-Man endeavors to solve the spate of murders, a young reporter from the Daily Star named Lois Lane arrives in Gotham. Though she is meant to cover a movie premiere, it doesn’t take long for Lane to find herself caught in the grips of a new villain in Gotham. One whose mastery of fear will plunge the city into chaos!
The creative team of legendary writer Dan Jurgens (The Death of Superman, Booster Gold) and superstar artist Mike Perkins (The Swamp Thing) continue their pulp-noir adventure of the caped crusader in the early years of his vigilante career.

DC K.O. continues as this time Harley and Zatanna duke it out to see who will take on Darkseid to fight for the fate of the DC Universe.

Zatanna sees that Harley is in the same area that she is and runs up to her and asks to agree on a fair fight. As Zatanna is asking for fairness, Harley whacks her in the throat with her mallet.

Harley does it so Zatanna can’t use her magic because she figures he can take her in hand to hand combat.

Harley makes quick work of Zatana and wins the first round of the best two out of three in this matchup. After the win, Harley is granted some abilities to do a quick costume change. Harley baits Zatanna into fighting a bit more dirtier because the stakes are so high. Zatanna takes the bait and wins round two. Now it is winner take all.

For the final round, Harley powers up with some magic to make it a true fair fight with one of the DC Universe’s greatest magicians. Harley is ready for her killshot and keeps taunting Zantana about how she is always in the shadow of her father and John Constintine. This enrages Zantanna to a point where she kills Harley to win the match. Harley tells Zatanna that it’s ok and she has a chance to win the tournament but she just has to be more ruthless.

Zantanna says that she will use the power to bring Harley back and stands, ready to fight and shouts “who’s next?!”

Analysis

For a tie-in to a big DC crossover event, Harley Quinn vs. Zatanna #1 was pretty good. It was different to see Zantanna really let loose and lose control and kill someone but that is what the Omega Tournament is calling for. Harley carries much of the dialogue in this issue. I haven’t read many comics involving Harley but she kept breaking the fourth wall. Is this a thing? Are they making her DC’s version of Deadpool? I guess it could work but it seems out of place in a DC book. Very strange.

Harley doing all the costume changes reminded me of the scene in Holiday Knights where her and Ivy do the same during the shopping montage. Maybe that’s just on my mind because its the holidays or maybe Williams was intentional with it.

Like I said Harley Quinn vs. Zatanna #1 is a DC K.O. tie-in one-shot. This isn’t exactly going to be Watchmen or Dark Knight Returns but for the people who read all the ties in every event, they won’t hate this. I have bought and read worse issues than this one.

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46 Comic Review

by Adam Koppel December 17, 2025
written by Adam Koppel

In this review of Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46, the heroes find a unique workaround to their unexpected intangibility, while the horrific Joker/Lex Luthor hybrid brings the clown prince of crime’s maniacal madness to the masses via pilfered alien technology.

Release Date: 12/17/25

This review contains spoilers

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46 opens with Hawkman scouring Metropolis for the missing Batman and Superman while calling the JLA for back-up. Soon after, Batman gets Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) to help recreate the freaky “Fusion” Batman/Superman composite being from Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #4 as a temporary fix for the heroes’ intangibility caused by an explosion of an experimental weapon.

Meanwhile, after a brief power struggle, the Joker/Lex Luthor hybrid allows for a temporary truce so that Joker can wreak havoc with the pilfered alien technology called the Absorbascon.  Soon, all across Metropolis, citizens become unexpectedly homicidal as Joker uses the Absorbascon to project his insanity across the city. Thankfully, one of the side effects of the Batman/Superman composite is tangibility so the composite stops every violent act.

Batman’s strategic mind deduces that Joker’s transmission can be detected by Superman’s enhanced vision, and the composite hero tracks down the Joker/Lex hybrid (who unfortunately is able to work similarly in tandem and hits the composite with a blast of green kryptonite from Lex’s power suit).

The composite hero buckles under the effects of the Green K, but as they are only half Kryptonian, the composite hero is more resilient and manages to fling the hybrid into the air. The composite hero chases after them, but are hit by a sneak attack by the hybrid who is using the Absorbascon to counter the composite hero’s fighting moves.

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46 ends with a shocking revelation that not only do Joker/Lex know the World’s Finest secret identities, but they are broadcasting the information to every mind on Earth (uh oh).

Analysis

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46 continues to reimagine the Batman/Superman and Joker/Lex Luthor team-ups in clever and inventive new ways. Writer Mark Waid regularly draws inspiration from classic Silver Age DC Comics stories, but in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46, he riffs on his own work from issue #4 and the Superman/Batman composite hero (melded from will power and a green lantern ring).

Waid’s dialogue pops while distinctly identifying each part of the merged hybrids as they speak. Lex Luthor’s brilliance is subtle in this story but when it surfaces it counts, while the Joker takes the center ring (and control of the Absorbascon) to share his gift of madness with the greater Metropolis population. It’s clear that the clown prince of crime is running the show after a heated power struggle.

In contrast, Batman and Superman work in tandem as their composite hero, lending their unique skills and perspectives to assist the other (although not always in a timely manner). Joker and Lex seem to have the upper hand in this team up, but Batman and Superman use their unique partnership to their advantage, but the Absorbascon gives the villains a distinct advantage.

The final Joker/Lex reveal probably isn’t a surprise for readers, given that the Absorbascon contains all knowledge, but the heroes’ shocked response at their sudden vulnerability reveals the heightened stakes at play in this story arc. Obviously, this twist will be reversed, but Waid will also likely play out this twist to great effect.

Also, given the alien origin of the technology, it makes twisted, but logical sense that Joker’s formidable psyche would be more resistant than Luthor’s, or possibly it is only the combined minds that allow them not to succumb to the powerful effects.

Artist Adrian Gutierrez continues to impress with dazzling action set pieces and impressive compositions, while experimenting with lighting techniques for dramatic effect, while Tamra Bonvillain’s palette runs the gamut from the familiar primary color scheme to bathing multiple pages in a sickly green hue.

Final Thoughts

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #46 is another satisfying issue, full of slam bang action, clever plotting, brisk and biting dialogue and gorgeous art and color. The creative team continues to reimagine classic Silver Age concepts for the modern age.

Review: Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Episodes #174-176

by Stephanie Mounce December 11, 2025
written by Stephanie Mounce

Just before Thanksgiving in the US, Steph and Ian sat down together to discuss one thing they’re very thankful for…Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Episodes #174-176!  Let’s see what StarBite and CRC Payne have been serving up.

Steph: Hi Ian!! Are you excited for Thanksgiving?!
Ian: I am! Time with the fam, cooking, eating, reading books…and COMICS! How about you?
Steph: Well, not really. I just had mouth surgery and eating is rough still. But I can eat all the webtoons I want!!
Ian: That’s good! Hopefully you’ll be able to munch more than mashed taters soon. But speaking of Webtoons, Wayne Family Adventures Season 4 feels like it’s firing on all cylinders again for me!
Steph: Oh man, I think it’s striking a pretty good balance this season of the long term stories, but keeping entertaining B and C plots.
And I do wonder if they intersect later on…
Ian: That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking!
Where season 3 was pretty much All Joker All The Time, and far too dark for what I think WFA can reasonably handle at any extended period, season 4 has a serious plot – Mr. Freeze’s disappearance – a Wayne Enterprises plot with Kate, Vicki Vale, and Bruce, a Family Shenanigans plot with Damian trying to find a present for Alfred, and even a romance plot…
that’s four plots, which makes it feel less like it’s trying to be a Deep and Dark Serious Comic about Batman and his Batpain, and instead is just a more extended and complicated approach to the gag-a-day strips the series does so well!
Steph: Yes! Let’s get into episode 174 – Action, Reaction – which starts with Bruce and Kate talking.
We see a lot of growth for Bruce from last season.
Ian: I have to say, I know Greg Rucka hates the idea that Bruce and Kate are first cousins (he wishes they were 2nd or 3rd cousins), but I like the way they’re almost like siblings here. Also, Bruce continues to show his character growth from last season, which is fantastic.
Steph: yes to both those things. In the canon comics I often forget that they 1. live in the same city and 2. are related. I really appreciate the growth of their relationship.
Ian: What’d you think about Kate and Bruce boxing? That’s a fun Batfamily activity!

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Kate and Bruce fight it out
Steph: I agree. It also provided Kate the opportunity to punch her feelings out, which is a way I think the two of them are similar.
Ian: absolutely! How do you feel about Bruce saying he’s the best and everyone is just fighting for second?
Steph: I was going to mention that next! Bruce is growing a sense of humor!
Ian: I think it’s true in a meta-sense, though I prefer a world where Lady Shiva and a few others are better than him at fighting
Steph: But he’s Batman
Ian: He is Batman! But I grew up reading Chuck Dixon and Gail Simone’s Birds of Prey, where Shiva was just The Force of fighting, and Batman planned around her rather than trying to beat her. 😄
Steph: And the episode ends with Nightwing getting asked to come in from Bludhaven and Duke being asked to go undercover to check on the kid who got Kate framed for meanness.
Ian: I like how Batman, of course, has a PLAN! And the plan is to…delegate!
Steph: The next episode 175 – Marching Orders sees Duke agreeing to go under cover, but mostly it’s just Dick and Damian on a mall date/kidnapping. What did you think of all the sibling teasing?

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Damian Kidnaps Dick

Ian: I think this is the most Wayne Family Adventures of the plotlines, and I really love it. Damian interacting with the family is always a delight when the writers understand his voice and the family member’s voices in relation to his, and I think CRC Payne has just the right blend of arrogance, uncertainty, and hidden child for Damian. It’s extremely delightful, and Dick’s advice is quite sensible, but of course Damian can’t listen to it because it’s so chill and silly.
Oh, and there’s a WONDERFUL continuity note as Steph jokes that Tim hasn’t gotten kidnapped recently!
Steph: Yes! I loved that.
Do you think Alfred will like his slippers?
Ian: I think Alfred will love them
And I really hope we get to see him wearing them!
Steph: Oh, we better. Now, I have to admit I never read DickBatman/DamianRobin. How was this episode in light of that series? I really loved how Damian trusts Dick and was panicking at anyone else knowing his dilemma (though begrudgingly).

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Damian needs to trust the other kids

Ian: I think it didn’t lean TOO heavily on that history, but there was definitely a really great brotherly vibe to them, and the light vs. dark temperaments was really nicely drawn for sure.
Steph: I like how Dick is there for Damian, but he also pushes Damian to lean on the others as well… even though they let Dick himself down by not getting his pack of the driveway
Ian: Poor Dick. Steph and Cass should have gotten that bag!
Steph: Next we have episode 176- Partnering Up with the reunion of….dun dun dun…We Are Robin!
Ian: As a HUGE We Are Robin fan, I LOVED this part!
Steph: And I’ll admit…I didn’t catch last season that Shug-R’s name was pronounced “Sugar”…I get the play on letters eluded me.

Ian: Even though Izzy is my least favorite We Are Robiner, she’s still fun, and we get lots of Shug-R, plus glimpses of Riko, Dax, and Dre! it’s pretty clear to me that Lee Bermejo, writer of We Are Robin, has a punny sense of humor 😄
Steph: Maybe he saw the future trend of giving kids normal word names that are spelled weird.
And maybe this will be Lizzy’s opportunity to grow and be a likeable character for you.
They look like they’ve become a pretty well coordinated team and work together really well.
Ian: I think she’s reasonably likeable – I just think the others are MORE likeable 😄
Steph: Ahhhhh.
Ian: I do think it’s funny that this comic has done more for the We Are Robin team than the original comic, while being extremely faithful to that comic! I’m always super glad to see them!
Steph: That is nice. I think WFA does its best to bring out the best in a lot of people’s favorite’s.
And next we have Dick checking in with Red Hood. What did you think of this whole interaction?
We get tiny glimpses of Az, Huntress, and Catwoman. Hopefully they’ll be more prominent later.
Ian: I’m very curious about the way they’re writing Dick – he’s very much trying to act as a team leader – not replacing Bruce, but like a capable executive officer with a very different leadership and relationship style compared to Batman. (Reminds me of the Nightwing Year One comment Dick makes about being a talker in a family of writers). He’s systematically connecting with the Batfam and trying to make sure they are doing well and encourage them
Steph: Oh, I was going to mention that in episode 174 they did make it clear that Bruce and Kate might be fighting as Waynes in suits more this season, which is why Nightwing is coming in as a field leader.
I love that Dick is very much the heart and sees how much Jason loves everyone and is worried about Tim even though he denies is so much.
Ian: Dick’s insight and care for his family is just so nice to see!
We also get to see that Catwoman, Huntress, and Azrael are helping with the hunt for Freeze!
Steph: And, to finish this review off…we need to talk about the romantic elephant in the room…HAVE BABS AND DICK NOT BEEN TOGETHER THIS WHOLE TIME??

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Babs and Dick Flirting

I swear…I thought they were dating…Maybe I’m getting DC’s Nightwing and WFA mixed up, but I swear they were
Ian: I do not think they have!
They WERE getting married in the Red Hood: Outlaw webtoon, which had crossover with WFA, but they are clearly sort of neighboring universes rather than the same one
Steph: See…I didn’t think I was totally nuts. And also…I mean…haven’t Babs and Dick been a thing since they were 14?
Ian: And of course in the (in my opinion rather odd) DC Go webtoon Nothing Butt Nightwing, they break up in rather frustrating fashion
You are never nuts, Steph! 😄
Steph: We don’t need to talk about that series. The first two episodes made me very uncomfy…as a human.
Ian: Indeed
But how about the way CRC Payne is writing Dick and Babs here?
Does it romance romancely for you?
Steph: I mean, not super much, but that might just be because I thought they were normal flirting as a couple and then Dick started acting weird and I realized they weren’t dating. So, it was a bit weird for me. But I don’t think that’s CRC’s fault.
Ian: I thought it was cute. And I’m kind of surprised, because outside of Bruce and Selina’s pretty regular dates, there’s not a ton of romance in WFA. Duke got that one storyline, but that ended in heartbreak. Tim was dating Bernard (sadly for this TimSteph shipper), but that hasn’t been seen recently (thankfully), and Jason was looking to setup an online dating profile (despite being on a team with Artemis – what’s wrong with you, Jason?)
I’m hoping that this Dick and Babs romance plotline will be a fun romcom type thing, rather than ending like poor Duke’s.
Steph: I hope it’s a fluffy D plot.
Well, any final thoughts on these three episodes? And, more importantly, what do you look forward most at Thanksgiving?
Ian: I think in general these three episodes have really brought back my confidence in the direction this season has taken, and I’m extremely excited to check out the next chapters! For Thanksgiving, I’d say I’m looking forward most to cooking and eating with family! A generic answer, but tis too true!
Steph: Same on WFA.
I can’t wait to see my nephews bring food to dinner for the first time! They’re turning into such great young guys.
See you in a few weeks!!!
Ian: ❤️

This review contains spoilers

As Absolute Batman #15 begins, Alfred is telling Bruce about the man who never laughs who owns hundreds of tiny islands that he visits only a few times a year.

We get Joker’s backstory and his real name is Jack Grimm V. Jack’s ancestors made their money in production companies and television while Jack V is the smartest of the bunch who is approaching trillionaire status and made that money through online gaming.

However the Grimms have always played both sides. Funding right leaning news and left leaning news. Playing the clown for everyone else while making everyone be the clown secretly. Alfred talks about his research and how he discovered the family has used a laughing gas to kill people. And that he thinks those islands are where Grimm hunts his enemies.

Alfred is telling this to Bruce as we see Jack Grimm turn into a heinous clown monster and eat a man that he had been stalking on one of the islands. Jack has been funding Ark M. Alfred also believes that there has only ever been one Jack Grimm. That this one man has been tormenting the world for centuries but Alfred can’t explain how.

Absolute Batman #15 ends with Grimm returning to Gotham. To a stately manor. A butler asks him if he needs anything. He says no and turns the hands on a grandfather clock and enters a cave to do some work.

Analysis

Once again I am conflicted. There are some ideas that I really like in Absolute Batman #15. I love that in this universe that Joker is rich with a big house and a cave. This dark reflection of the Batman that we know. I hope he has a sick car and a bunch of gadgets.

On the flip side, some of this feels like a reused idea by Scott Snyder. I’m pretty sure we’ve seen the idea of the Joker being immortal and menace throughout history in the Endgame story arc by Snyder. I also feel like Snyder audibled at some point about how Absolute Joker was going to be in this universe. My memory might be playing tricks on me but at the end of the first issue we saw a glimpse of Joker being taken away by some law enforcement. Now he’s a monster and rich and maybe 100 years old.

I know there’s a Wonder Woman crossover coming up but feels too soon for Batman to go from fighting Super Giant Bane to Super Monster Joker. It feels like too much of the same and a bit too repetitive for me.

Jock drew Super Monster Joker really well. Jock and Snyder are a legendary team. Horror is where Jock thrives. Seeing Snyder and Jock back together made me want The Black Mirror again.

Final Thoughts
I know there's a Wonder Woman crossover coming up but feels too soon for Batman to go from fighting Super Giant Bane to Super Monster Joker. It feels like too much of the same and a bit too repetitive for me.
